The recycling Rotters are looking for your help

The Rotters are volunteers from across North Yorkshire who highlight practical ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

They go into the community to spread the word about environmental campaigns at events, talks and school workshops to promote waste prevention and inspire others to take action to cut down on their waste.

The Rotters are looking for new volunteers to join the group to spread the message about protecting the planet by reducing, reusing and recycling. If you are interested, contact volunteer co-ordinator Jeff Coates at jeff.coates@northyorks.gov.uk or 07807 084307.

You don’t have to be an eco-warrior. You can help your community to cut back on plastic, reduce food waste, recycle more and compost at home by volunteering for just a few hours whenever you like in your community.

The Rotters attend events, workshops at schools and after-school clubs and groups to deliver talks and activities around subjects such as food waste and composting.
