Hosted at fire stations across North Yorkshire: the aim is to talk to volunteers about the various outreach topics they have for fire safety, and the "safe and well" visits that they can carry out for those who might need them in the community.
The session will be around 90 minutes and will finish with a 30 minute tour around the fire station.
Visit the new multi-agency Tactical Coordination Centre in Northallerton, have a tour round and look at the technology and systems we use when responding to a major incident.
In September 2022 we held our first ever Ready for Anything conference at the national Emergency Planning College at Easingwold near York.
It was so good to see so many volunteers turn up to the event. The morning had various speakers including an introduction from the Assistant Chief Constable Mike Walker. We also had a very interesting talk from our keynote speaker Dr Anne Eyre who is a sociologist specialising in psychosocial aspects of major incidents, emergency planning and disaster management.
The afternoon comprised of workshops and one had a rest centre set up and volunteers were shown how they are run.
You can sign up for the training opportunities listed below by emailing your interest to readyforanything@northyorks.gov.uk.
