This Privacy Notice is designed to help you understand how and why the catch up literacy project – in conjunction with NYC’s virtual school processes your personal data. This notice should be read in conjunction with our corporate privacy notice.
North Yorkshire Council is an ‘independent data controller’ as defined by Article 4(7) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). We are also working in conjunction with another independent controller – Catch Up – and our shared partners NIESR, IES and WWCSC who are joint controllers for the purpose of these activities. The virtual school is a specialist support team responsible for raising the attainment, progress and aspirations of North Yorkshire's children in care and previously in care children.

Foster carers are given, ‘lifetime membership’ for access to learning materials on their catch up account. Carers may request the erasure of their account data at any time. Requests for erasure will be acknowledged by catch up within one calendar month. Actual deletion of data will occur within 1 calendar month of the acknowledgement (for a maximum retention period of 2 months after the erasure request). |
