Transport policy

The Local Transport Plan (LTP) is a set of documents that the Government requires all local transport authorities to produce. The LTP sets out our plans and strategies for maintaining and improving all aspects of the local transport system over the next five years.

The current LTP started on 1st April 2011. The new LTP covers the 5 year period from 2011-2016. The plan builds on our previous successes and sets out how we will manage, maintain and improve the transport system for the benefit of people living and travelling in the county. In view of proposed national cuts to public spending, the plan sets out our approach to delivering the most appropriate solutions with the funding available to us.

The LTP was adopted by the County Council on 15th December 2010. A PDF version of the third LTP and associated documentation can be downloaded from the useful downloads section below.
