Fair processing note - carers' emergency card
Data you give us when you register a carers' emergency card may be shared with partner organisations (for example carers' centres to provide support or, if the card is activated out of hours, partner organisations) in order to support the delivery of this service. Data matching involves comparing computer records held by one service or organisation against other computer records held by the same or another body. This is usually personal information. Computerised data matching allows potentially fraudulent claims and payments to be identified. Where a match is found it indicates that there is an inconsistency which requires further investigation. No assumption can be made as to whether there is fraud, error or other explanation until an investigation is carried out.
Data matching will be carried out in accordance with the principles of the Data Matching Code of Practice for the National Fraud Initiative.
