Finding the library, parking and access
The library is located below the police station, behind the railway station and next to the employment office. The bus station and railway station are both within a couple of minutes' walk.
There are no public car parking facilities at the library, and the nearest car park is at the Co-op supermarket or on the marina. There is a ramp for disabled access and an internal passenger lift.

Blue Bear Club for the under-fives
Interactive songs, rhymes and stories at Blue Bear Club for the under-fives, every Tuesday from 2.15pm - 3pm. This event is free.
We work closely with schools in the Whitby area and welcome class visits to the library. Please contact us directly to organise your visit.
The craft group meets every Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm. There is a small charge for attending this group.

Family tree research
If you are researching your family tree then come along to the local history and ancestry drop-in session between 2pm and 4pm every Thursday. This session is free but prior booking is recommended.
Help with computers and the internet
If you need help with computers, tablets, smartphones or the internet, then come along to the free drop-in session every Monday from 11am to 1pm.
Home library service
The home library service operates a fortnightly service from the library, serving Whitby and the surrounding area.
Knit and Knatter Club
The Knit and Knatter Club meets every Monday from 1pm to 3pm. There is a small charge for attending this group.
Music tots session for the under-fives
The music tots session for the under-fives is held every Monday morning during term-time from 9.30am to 10.30am. There is a small charge for attending this group.
A reading group is held every third Tuesday of the month from 6pm to 7pm. Please note there are no meetings in August or December.
Story and rhymetime
There is a story and rhymetime session for the under-fives every Tuesday between 2.15pm and 3pm. Entry is free.
