Whitby park and ride survey - give us your views

We want to find out how people and businesses in Whitby rate the scheme, and what improvements, if any, they would like to see. This survey provides an opportunity for local residents and businesses to give us their views on the scheme.


Whitby park and ride

Fares, timetables, location and site information for Whitby park and ride. Available seven days a week, the service is available from the first day of North Yorkshire's Easter school holidays until 2 November, including Bank Holidays.

Finding the park and ride

The car park is located at the A171/B1460 junction North of Whitby and has 450 free spaces. If using a sat nav to find the site, follow postcode YO21 1TL.

Service information

Buses run every 15 minutes and stop at West Cliff North Terrace, St. Hilda's Terrace and the bus station before returning to the park and ride site via the same stops.

The park and ride services offer an affordable alternative to town centre parking and cater for a range of customers from commuters to day trippers. Regular users are able to buy season tickets and benefit from convenient free parking spaces. The site includes a modern clean energy efficient building with waiting area and toilets.

The fare paid to travel on the bus also covers parking and use of facilities. Tickets are purchased on the bus or through Arriva's website. Dogs can travel on the bus at the discretion of the bus driver and a charge is payable.

The car park will be closed and locked 15 minutes after the last bus. There is no facility to reopen the site to recover vehicles left on the site after closure.

Opening times

The park and ride is open from the first day of North Yorkshire's Easter school holidays and the site opening times are as below.

  • March - 8.45am to 4.45pm
  • April - 8.15am to 5.40pm
  • May to September - 8am to 7pm
  • October to November - 8.15am to 5.40pm
