Chemicals

Household chemicals and fuels are accepted, free of charge, at all our household waste recycling centres.

The following are examples of household chemicals that can be accepted at all household waste recycling centres.

  • clothes dye
  • photographic and other hobby chemicals

Household chemicals should be placed in a sealed container.

If you have the following please ask site staff for assistance as these items are stored separately on site.

  • chlorine
  • heating oil
  • paraffin

Fuel should be placed in a five litre (or less) container that meets the requirements of Schedule 3 of The Petroleum (Consolidation) Regulations 2014.

If you have no use for these items, please pass them on to someone who can use them.

Household chemicals from a business or charity must be disposed of through a private licensed contractor.
