Social careNorth Yorkshire County Council Adult and Community Services and Children and Young People's Service aim to promote social well-being through support to individuals, families and communities.Individuals will be helped to live independently and safely within local communities through the equal provision of information, advice and care services. Communities and family units will be enabled to support themselves and we will provide protection for the most vulnerable in our society. Change of access arrangements to social care servicesA change has been made to the way people gain access to social care services provided by North Yorkshire County Council. All telephone enquiries, e-mails, letters, faxes and text-phone messages are now dealt with by a single team of customer services officers, who are highly experienced in social care. This new service, which launched on 3 September 2007, is available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. The service replaces that provided by the six Customer Relations Units (CRUs) across the county.
