You can borrow a range of books for all ages in a variety of formats, including large print and audio. DVDs and foreign language titles are also available for loan, as well as micro:bits. You can request any item that is not immediately available.

Activities at the library

Activity sessions and storytime
Children's activity sessions are held at the library during school holidays. There is a storytime for under-fives every Friday from 10:30am to 11:15am.
Class visits
Class visits may be organised to the library.
Family history help
Family History research available upon request.
Filey book group
Filey Book group is the last Wednesday of month and U3A is the last Thursday of the month.
Information technology taster sessions
The library holds information technology taster sessions to introduce people to computers and the internet.
Knit and natter group
The knit and natter group meets every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm.
Sewing Group
Our sewing group meets every Wednesday of every month from 2pm to 4pm.
Soundings creative writing group
The Soundings creative writing group meets on the third Thursday of the month from 10am to 12 noon.
Storytime for under-fives
There is a storytime for under-fives every Friday from 10:30am to 11:15am.
Hungry Little Minds Story times
Under 5 story time, crafts and songs on Mondays from 10:30am to 11:15am, term-time only.
Home library service
The home library service operates fortnightly from the library, serving Filey, Hunmanby and the surrounding area.
