Search tips
You can refine your search by using the following techniques:
| Refinement |
Description |
Example |
| Phrase search ("") |
By adding double quotes around a set of words, you are telling the search to consider the exact words in that exact order without any change. |
"Business advice" will provide results based on this exact phrase before providing results for pages that refer to Business support and advice. |
| Exclude terms (-) |
Attaching a minus sign immediately before a word indicates that you do not want pages that contain this work to appear in your results. |
bins -salt will ignore pages that contain the word salt. |
| Wildcard (*) |
If you include * in a search, you are telling the search to 'fill in the blanks' ie. the search treats the asterisk as a placeholder for any unknown terms for which it tries to find the best match. |
Councillor * will provide results based on different Councillors. |
