North Yorkshire County Council is to hold discussions with Tarmac Ltd about the future of Farnham Quarry near Knaresborough, following the company's decision to end its operations on the site. Tarmac says it has taken the decision to close the site in view of the difficult trading conditions and in the light of a concerns by a number of local residents over the operation.
