Local transport plan 2006 - 2011The Local Transport Plan (LTP) is a set of documents that the Government requires all local transport authorities to produce. The LTP sets out our plans and strategies for maintaining and improving all aspects of the local transport system over a set period of time, usually 5 years.

We have to submit our Local Transport Plan to the Government for consideration. When we produced the second Local Transport Plan, to cover the period 2006 to 2011, the Government considered that it was one of the best LTPs completed in the country and gave it an 'excellent' rating. The County Council completed its second Local Transport Plan, also known as LPT2, in March 2006. This covers the period from April 2006 to March 2011. The second Local Transport Plan sets out the Council's approach to improving community life through better transport provision. North Yorkshire County Council have used the Local Transport Plan to deliver a very wide range of transport improvements including schemes as varied as;
