What are these services?

Adapting homes

If you are having difficulty living independently at home due to a disability or frailty we can adapt your home to make life easier.

We believe that everyone has a right to live a fulfilling, safe and independent life in their own home. Elderly or disabled people should expect this too. We can supply various items of equipment that adapt your home to meet your needs.

Disabled people - home adaptations and aids

If you have a disability, including a learning disability and have difficulties managing in your home, it may be possible to reduce these problems by altering or adapting your home. For more information, see our disabled people - home adaptations and aids page.

Telecare

Telecare is the use of technology and support systems to assist vulnerable people to live at home. Telecare can improve and maintain wellbeing, self-esteem, independence and autonomy enabling individuals to live safely and securely at home. For more information, see our telecare page.

Having your needs assessed by social care services

To ensure that you receive the right kind of help and support, we need to know what problems you are having. This is done through an assessment of your needs.

For more information, see the needs assessment by social services page.

Charges for social care services

You will have to pay for some social care services you receive but others may be free or at a reduced cost, depending on your financial circumstances.

The amount you pay for social care services is determined through a financial assessment.
