North Yorkshire County Council has again been rated by the Audit Commission in the 2008 assessment as a 4 star authority - the highest mark attained by only one third of authorities - and improving well. The Council's Business & Environmental Services were awarded the highest grade possible. You will therefore be joining a high performing Council. Business and Environmental Services (BES) is one of the County Council's three front line service directorates. The aim of the directorate is to "provide quality services that promote, support and understand the needs of business, the environment and communities in North Yorkshire." This is achieved through the directorates objectives which are met by the directorate's seven service units. North Yorkshire is a beautiful place to live and work, and the Council is proud of its high calibre staff and services.
