Careers - finance and central servicesThank you for taking an interest in opportunities within Finance and Central Services at North Yorkshire County Council. The Directorate provides many of the support services that are important to the efficient and effective operation of the County Council. The quality of those services is reviewed every year by the Audit Commission and we have been assessed as being one of the best performing authorities in England on our use of resources.
Delivering these services depends to a significant extent on the quality of our staff, who fulfil many different roles. In the following pages, you will find information on some of the things we do and the types of staff that we need. Training and development of our staff is a high priority, and we are able to provide a range of career choices. There are a number of opportunities suitable for school leavers, and those starting their working careers, including apprenticeship schemes. Many of the jobs that we have available are based in Northallerton, although there are opportunities across the County in the Facilities Management service, and our Financial Advisory and Bursar Service to schools employs a number of people working in localities to provide this service. North Yorkshire is a beautiful place to live and work, and the Council is proud of the high calibre of its staff and services.
