Description of goodsMost products and services have descriptions applied to them; whether it be that a tradesman is a member of a specific trade body, or that a fruit cake contains a certain amount of fruit. It is trading standards remit to take enforcement action to ensure such descriptions are accurate.

Incorrectly described goods or services may be both a civil matter, which you may pursue, and a criminal matter, which trading standards can look into to ensure other consumers are not misled.
