Work experience placements (including schools)

We recognise that work experience is a very valuable opportunity which allows young people to gain knowledge and develop skills in a working situation.

Work experience placements are available in a range of service areas across the County and may be offered flexibly to suit your needs and availability;

Placements are available all year round, dependant on availability, so opportunities can be provided in either term time or holidays.

How to apply

Download the pdf icon work experience bulletin [442kb] [pdf] which details the range of placements that are available across the County. If you would like to apply for a placement you will need to make contact with the young person's recruitment team who will check availability. You will need to provide the placement reference code from the bulletin and the dates that you would like to undertake the placement. Work experience placements are very popular and students frequently contact us to request availability and book placements. To avoid disappointment we recommend you contact us in good time to check the placement is available, we recommend that you contact us at least 8 weeks before you would like the placement to start

Benefits

Work experience has many benefits, for school students, college leavers, graduates or young people who are seeking employment and wish to develop new skills;
