- When asked about learning and development staff said they were given the development they needed to do their job; and
- We offer a wide range of benefits to our staff from a good holiday entitlement to the local government pension scheme. Our staff are satisfied with the benefits they receive from the Council.

Everybody benefits schemeThe 'everybody benefits' scheme provides discounts to staff on goods and services such as travel, cars, electrical goods and leisure activities. Additionally, there are salary sacrifice schemes which include: - Child care vouchers - save up to 41% against the cost of childcare through the salary sacrifice scheme;
- Cycle discounts - save up to 50% against the cost of purchasing a cycle through the salary sacrifice scheme; and
- Green lease cars - the new green lease car scheme enables staff to undertake a private lease of a new low emission car of their choice, fully maintained and insured by the provider. Staff will pay for the car under salary sacrifice arrangements through a monthly gross salary deduction which means a saving in tax, NI and pension for employees using the scheme. Eligibility criteria are in place for this scheme.
Additional benefits- Green travel loan scheme - an interest free loan towards an annual season ticket to get you from home to work;
- Health and wellbeing - in addition to in-house occupational health services, preferential rates on a private health scheme is available through payroll deductions where there are no waiting periods or compulsory medicals;
- Holiday discounts - discounts given by time4leisure.com towards holidays booked through them;
- Leisure facilities discounts - various discounts on facilities run by District Councils as well as some private gyms; and
- Eye care - staff who use a PC as a regular part of their role are entitled to a free eye test and potentially PC specific specs.
