Transport - real time information
Real time information removes the uncertainty a passenger feels when waiting at the bus stop, by providing accurate information about the arrival of services at their stop. Providing confidence for passengers to make an informed and smart choice to travel by public transport.
How does it work?Buses are tracked using satellites to pinpoint their location and it is then calculated how long each bus will take to arrive at your stop. Accessing real time information You can access real time information from a PC or mobile phone with internet access. Visit the Next Buses mobile website to view live real time information if available. If this is not available the website will display scheduled times. Search tipsThere are two ways you can search for the bus stop you require. - Type in a street name (e.g. "hillside ave"), stop name (e.g. "city hospital") or full postcode (e.g. "CF4 3BU") and press search. You can refine a search by stating a town or area, e.g. "hillside ave leicester".
- Go to recently viewed stop (if you have used the site before)
Search results are plotted on a map to help you find the right stop. Click on a stop name to go straight to its departures The site shows the next few departures from the selected stop. Live information is shown as e.g. "in 5 minutes" and scheduled times are shown as e.g. "1425". Click 'show this stop on a map' to see exactly where it is in the street. BustrackerYou can also use the bustracker link to find out the departure time of your next bus. Text the stop number to 64422 to receive a message advising you when your next bus is due, the bustracker uses a satellite navigation system.
