Musical instrument hireParents and carers can hire an instrument for their child to use in music lessons at school if they are in receipt of lessons from the County Music Service.
If your child has the loan of a Music Centre instrument, or is hiring a County Music Service instrument, it is a requirement that the instrument is insured with all risks cover as the Local Authority does not insure such instruments. It may be possible to provide such cover for a musical instrument as part of your household insurance policy, this varies between companies - it is vital that you check. There are companies specialising in musical instrument insurance and you should be able to find out details from your insurance broker.
