Trains - information and advice

North Yorkshire has 46 rail stations and is served by five train operators.

Community railways

Community railways are local railways which are specially supported by local organisations. This support is usually through community rail partnerships (CRP) - comprising both the railway operator, local councils and other community organisations. Heritage railways

There are also three heritage railways in North Yorkshire, each with their own website:

Wensleydale Railway: operates heritage trains between Leeming Bar and Redmire;
North Yorkshire Moors Railway: operates heritage trains between Pickering and Grosmont; and
Bolton Abbey steam Railway: operates heritage trains between Embsay & Bolton Abbey.
