Funeral - buying a grave
North Yorkshire County Council does not provide burial services. In North Yorkshire, cemeteries are the responsibility of the district or borough councils or local churches. They can provide information on the purchase of grave plots, which are usually bought for a period of up to 50 years.
There may be conditions attached to the purchase according to the type of grave requested, for example whether a memorial can be placed on the grave. A grave may be purchased at any time but generally your funeral director will help to make the necessary arrangements for buying a grave. | | | | District or borough council service - buying a graveYou will need to contact the local authority in your area for more information and advice on buying a grave.
