Equal preferenceIn line with the School Admissions Code, we operate an equal preference system. This means that all applications for an individual school are assessed according to the relevant admissions criteria for that school, without reference to the order that the schools have been listed on an application form (where we are able to meet one of your preferences, lower preferences will not be considered).
We, along with the other admission authorities that we coordinate with, will consider the demand for places and each child's position within the relevant admissions criteria, to decide which children qualify for a place at each school. If your child cannot be offered a place at any of the schools named on your application form, they will be given a place at the nearest school maintained by us or at a school within your home admission's authority, which has a place available. It may not be possible to allocate a place at your child's normal area school if that school is oversubscribed.
