This site provides the facts and information you will need to apply for a place at school in North Yorkshire.

If your child lives in North Yorkshire, you must either complete and submit the online common application form or fill in and return a paper application form, available from the admissions team, by 31 October 2012, for secondary applications and 15 January 2013, for primary applications.

If you live in another authority's area, but would like a place at one of our schools, please apply through your home local authority by the appropriate closing date. We will then work together to coordinate a school place for your child.

I would encourage you to read the information on this website carefully before you fill in the common application form. This will guide you through the admission arrangements for all our community schools and the scheme to coordinate admissions with our voluntary-aided, foundation, trust schools and academies, as well as schools in neighbouring authorities.

You can also contact the relevant team in Harrogate. You are welcome to visit schools in your area, and we would encourage you to do so, to meet staff and to get a real feel for the school your child might attend. If you would like to know more about a particular school, school staff will be pleased to help and will give you a copy of the school's prospectus.
