Supervising attendance orders

A supervised attendance order is in effect a fine on time, which offenders require to use for constructive activity. Once made, this order clears the fine. Local authorities have responsibilities for supervising attendance orders. This sentence only applies to those young people who committed an offence before 30 November 2009. It has been replaced by the Youth Rehabilitation Order.

Services for young offenders in North Yorkshire are provided by the North Yorkshire Youth Justice Service (YJS). The Youth Justice Service comprises expert staff from a range of service partners including the Police, Probation Service, Health, and the Children and Young People's Service, supported by committed and skilled volunteers. The key objectives of the Youth Justice Service are to reduce youth crime, protect the public from serious harm, and safeguard the welfare of young people.
