What are these services?

Is anyone else involved?

Lots of work has been done already to get where we are now with broadband. This has been with the help of people from organisations, councils and communities across the county. They all agree that working together we can succeed in bringing high quality broadband to everyone in North Yorkshire & York.

These organisations have been crucial in achieving the current status:

The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) has pledged funding to help deliver high quality broadband through the Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) initiative by selecting North Yorkshire to be one of the pilot areas for rural broadband

The political leadership of all 9 local authorities in North Yorkshire & York agree on the importance of high quality broadband. The York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) identified broadband as a key priority to promote business growth. Whilst it was still in existence, the North Yorkshire Strategic Partnership (NYSP) allocated sizable funding to deliver broadband rural "not spots". Numerous Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) have expressed a wish to facilitate further broadband activity. We are also working with the NHS Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), Fire & Rescue Service and Police across the county.
