What is Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband?

Next generation access (NGA) is a term describing a significant upgrade to the existing telecommunication access network by replacing some or all of the copper cable with optical fibre. Since fibre can transmit data quicker over longer distances NGA is important for faster broadband internet access
