Should I list the normal school for my home address? If you don't list the normal school for your home address as an option, it may fill up with pupils whose parents have said they would prefer their child to go to that school. If you do not list your normal school, and we are unable to offer you your highest preference school, it may mean that the only school with available places is further away. If you are not aware of the normal school that serves your home address, please contact the admissions team.
If your child attends a primary school which is not your normal school, he or she may not be able to transfer to secondary school with his or her friends. This is because your child's normal school is based on your permanent home address and not the primary school your child attends. Please do not be tempted to list the same school several times, or to list only one single school if there are others you would be prepared to consider. It does not help your chances in any way and may mean your child is offered a place at a school you would prefer them not to attend. If you list a school which is not your normal school you will normally be responsible for transport arrangements and costs. You can find our transport policy for all pupils here.
