What should I do if my child has a physical disability?

You will need to decide as early as possible which school you would prefer.

Contact the parent partnership service if you would like them to assist you in looking around schools. Many schools are already suitable for pupils with a physical disability and some are accessible by wheelchair and have hygiene suites. It is important that you provide details on your common application form of the condition.

If your child does not have a statement of special educational needs, you can submit professional evidence for your application to be considered by the social and medical panel. If we agree that there are special social or medical reasons for your preference, your child will be considered under the appropriate admissions policy criteria.

If you are not offered a place at the school you prefer you have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel, for details of how to do this please see information on appeals here.
