What happens if my preferred school is over-subscribed?If community and voluntary-controlled schools are over-subscribed (that is, there are more pupils applying than there are places available) we will use the criteria here to decide which pupils will go where. For those living in joint catchment areas we will use our admissions policy and equal preference to allocate school places. Voluntary-aided, trust, foundation schools and academies will apply their own over-subscription criteria. Please contact the school or the admissions team for further information. You may appeal against a decision not to admit your child to a school of your preference. Find out more about appeals here.
