What are these services?

Can my child go on a waiting list?

The school admissions code requires that all admission authorities must keep a waiting list for the normal year of entry.

For all over-subscribed community and voluntary controlled schools for the first year of admission (reception for primary schools and year seven for secondary schools), we will keep a waiting list, using the admissions policy criteria, from the date the offers of school places have been made until the last day in December 2013.

If a place becomes available during this period, we will offer it using the admissions policy criteria. We will not keep waiting lists after the last day in December 2013 for the school year 2013-2014.

We will not place children on the waiting list for a school if we have been able to offer them a place at a school they have ranked as a higher preference.
