Against the re-routing of A61 Harrogate

3,328 signatures

Received by NYCC 23 May 2011

Harrogate Area Committee which met 9 June 2011, agreed to support the setting up of a Working Group to consider alternatives to a proposal, which had received very little support in the public consultation, to re-route the A61 Station Parade in Harrogate. It was noted that membership of the Working Group would include Members and officers of the County and Borough Councils, the Chamber of Trade and Commerce, bus operators, and developers.

The organiser of a petition, containing 3,328 signatures, "Against the Re-Routing of the A61, Station Parade, Harrogate" addressed the meeting. During her address, she also referred to membership of the proposed Working Group and suggested that it needed to be more fully representative. County Councillor Gareth Dadd (Executive Member) responded that he would welcome the petition organiser's involvement in the Working Group.
