Update to Response to Petition as Evidence for the Need of Safe Crossing and Access to Roecliffe Lane, Boroughbridge

200 signatures

Received by NYCC 16 August 2011

Response to the petitions:

Regrettably North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) are unable to provide funding for the above scheme for the foreseeable future, as Highway budgets have been severely restricted and our limited funds are directed into maintenance of the existing highway network. The possibility of external funding was also explored but unfortunately this was not successful.

Unfortunately, unlike in the previous financial year, we do not have a budget allocated for the installation of dropped kerb pedestrian crossings. Therefore we are assembling a list of requests for similar schemes and will assess and prioritise these when funding becomes available.
