How do I report a damaged, missing or dirty road sign?

We welcome reports from members of the public regarding damaged, missing or dirty road signs.

On the roads that we are responsible for (see table at the top of the page), you should report to us any signs that are:

  • damaged/misaligned/missing causing a hazard
  • lights not operating correctly/malfunctioning/exposed wiring
  • obscured/dirty/faded signs and bollards

To allow us to deal with the fault the following information must be provided:

  • location details including town/village
  • road name
  • any identifiable landmark
  • nature of the fault for example: damaged/misaligned/missing causing a hazard, obscured/dirty/faded signs.

If possible it would also be helpful if you are able to provide the following details:

  • When you first noticed the road sign was damaged or missing
  • Your name and contact details

You can report a damaged/missing/dirty road sign by:

If you feel that  the missing or damaged sign may constitute an immediate or imminent hazard, especially where vehicular impact has occurred or if the sign is illuminated and where the electrical condition is at fault or exposed, please do not use the on-line form and instead telephone our customer service centre.
