What does the County Council do to promote cycling?

Our commitment to promoting cycling as an alternative mode of travel to the car is acknowledged in the current Local Transport Plan.

The County Council continues to work with the two National Parks to promote cycling. The Council also assists in the provision and promotion of initiatives such as the Moors to Sea Cycle Route, National Byway and the National Cycle Network.

Facilities for cyclists are also introduced through school travel plans, Service Centre Transportation Strategies and as a part of developer funded works.
