Last call for major family history fairNorth Yorkshire's County Records Office is making a last call to amateur historians and family tree enthusiasts to visit the County Council's major family history fair at Harrogate Pavilions on Saturday, 10 March.
Learn about developments in research and the art of making family archives from a wide range of experts - all for an entry price of £1. Attendees can browse more than 30 society and trade stands, with exhibitors including family tree experts Find My Past, and enjoy screenings of rare film from the Yorkshire Film Archive. Visitors can also preview a new interactive genealogy website called Family Film Tree, which will allow people to add moving images to their genealogy research and create playlists to tell the story of their family history. Support and advice on tracing a family tree will be also available from professionals. A programme of one-hour talks priced at £3 each is planned throughout the day.
