Why can't you just dim lights instead of turning some of them off?The technology required for dimming street lighting is expensive and in many cases the cost cannot be recovered through subsequent energy savings.
This technology will only be used where our lamp wattages exceed 150w and the subsequent energy saving can recoup the initial investment cost.
