How do I report a problem or concern with vehicles parking on the highway in a controlled parking zone?

On street parking restrictions are enforced by traffic wardens employed by North Yorkshire Police except in Harrogate and Scarborough where civil parking enforcement operates and the Borough Councils employ civil enforcement officers to fulfil this function.

If you have a problem or concern regarding enforcement in a controlled parking zone in the areas of Harrogate, Knaresborough or Scarborough please contact either;-

  • Harrogate Borough Council on: 0845 300 6091
  • Scarborough Borough Council on: 01723 232323

For enforcement issues in all other controlled parking zones within North Yorkshire please contact North Yorkshire Police by dialling 101 from your land line or mobile phone.
