What are these services?

Updating your details on the families services directory

To make life easier we have introduced online updating to services registered on our families information service website. This will allow you to login any time of day or night and make sure the information we hold about you is correct.

Why would I want to make sure my details are correct?

There are a couple key reasons why you should make sure your details are correct.

  • If your information is right with North Yorkshire FIS it will be right in lots of different places. Your information is given out over the telephone, through children's centres, through schools, by e-mail, by post, face-to-face and online through the following websites: www.nyfamilies.info, www.yor-ok.org.uk and other approved third party websites; and
  • We have to make sure your details are checked at least once every three months for childcare providers and every six months for service providers. If your information is older than this then your information may be removed from our system.

How to update childcare providers', organisations' or activities' details in the service directory

We need to make sure that information about services and organisations are as up to date as possible. There are thousands of services and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to update their own information. So once your service is created in the service directory, you can update your details using any of the following methods.

  • Call the Family Information Service on 0845 601 1630;
  • Text 'update' to 07624 802425 and we will call you back;
  • E-mail any changes to fis.information@northyorks.gov.uk; or
  • Contact us by post to: North Yorkshire Families Information Service, County Hall, Room SB218, Racecourse Lane, Northallerton DL7 8AE.
