This page provides information and resources about how the Council is performing.

Performance and review

We aim for excellence across the full range of services. The Council Plan gives information about our current priorities and planned investment in key service areas. It also shows how we are performing against key targets.

We are determined to get best value for money for the people of North Yorkshire. In order to improve services and raise standards we must monitor performance and understand how to achieve better results. To this end, we have adopted an improvement programme:

  • Performance management and improvement framework
This enables Council members and managers to track how the Council performs against a number of key indicators. Performance is monitored continuously by service managers and on a quarterly basis by our Executive and our Management Board.
  • Performance improvement
The County Council has a programme of performance improvement reviews overseen by the Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committees looking at both individual services and areas of joint working with partners.

Information about our previous Comprehensive Area Assessment is available via the One Place link on the right.
