School - clothing grants and vouchers

Clothing grants are available to pupils who are transferring from primary to secondary school and whose parents are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • income support
  • income-based job seeker's allowance
  • income-related employment and support allowance
  • support under part VI of the immigration and asylum act 1999
  • child tax credit with an income of less than £16,040 and not receiving working tax credit
  • guarantee element of state pension credit.

A grant may also be available to other pupils in exceptional circumstances. These can only be authorised by a senior education social worker. If you think you may be eligible, please ask your child's school to put you in touch with the education social worker for the school, who will advise you.
