Outdoor activity centresNorth Yorkshire Outdoor Education Service has been providing residential and day outdoor education courses for young people together with training courses for adults and youth leaders for over 40 years as part of the County Council's Children and Young People's Service.We currently operate four centres in North Yorkshire and Cumbria, namely: Bewerley Park Centre - located just outside the Yorkshire Dales town of Pateley Bridge, near Harrogate. East Barnby Centre - located high on the rolling coastal plateau between the North York Moors and the North Sea, about five miles outside Whitby. Humphrey Head Centre - located near Grange over Sands, Cumbria. Great Fryupdale Centre - a converted primary school in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. More information about the activities available can be obtained by phoning or emailing the individual centres or by visiting the Outdoor Education Service website. Our Centres are accredited and/or affiliated with the following national organisations: Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, British Canoe Union, British Cycling Federation, British Mountaineering Club, British Orienteering Federation, Mountain Leader Training, Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme and the Royal Yachting Association.

Great Fryupdale outdoor education centre
Situated approximately 10 miles from Guisborough and 12 miles from Whitby, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, Great Fryupdale Centre has benefited from a complete rebuild during 2005.
