Set out below are the school term and holiday dates for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2010/2011 to 2011/2012. School term and holiday dates for voluntary aided and foundation schools are decided by individual school Governing Bodies.

Please note that some schools have decided to adopt slightly different term and holiday dates to those shown here and it is therefore advisable to contact the individual school to confirm their dates.

In addition to the dates shown above schools are allowed to set aside five days for staff training purposes. You should contact your child's school for information about the days on which they will close for training. Alternatively, The Education Office - Harrogate may be able to help you if you are unable to make contact with the school.

Occasionally schools have to close as a result of bad weather or unavoidable emergencies such as loss of utility services. A message about school closures will usually be put out on your local radio station. Up to date information will also appear on the School Closures page on this website.
