How to submit a planning application
There are two ways to apply:
- Online via the planning portal;
- Download an application form from our website:
You can complete your planning application in paper form and submit it to the County Council via the post, or alternatively e-mail the completed form to planning.control@northyorks.gov.uk.
The relevant application forms, certificates, notices and guidance notes are available to download from the planning application forms page.
Online planning register
Our online planning register allows you to:
- Search our database and monitor the progress of applications through the planning system;
- View records of applications determined by the County Council including the Decision Notices; and
- Submit comments on current applications.
Planning application validation requirements
North Yorkshire County Council has recently adopted the 
validation requirements document for planning and other applications [806kb] [pdf] , which provides a guide to the information that may be required in a planning application submitted to the County Planning Authority.
