What are these services?

Land reclamation - support and advice

Increasingly, environmental concerns are generating the drive towards seeking the best use of landfill sites and the discovery of more acceptable means of restoration such as:
  • reclamating former household waste sites to create public open space and creating cycle & footpath networks.
  • transforming former landfill sites to country parks and wildlife reserves ;
  • developing angling facilities on ponds at derelict landfill sites;

To enable North Yorkshire County Council to work with selected partners (see below) a fund called 'the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund' is allocated to  tackle the environmental impacts of aggregates extraction. You can find out more about this funding by visiting the external links below.
