Conservation areas

Enquiries for advice about conservation areas should be directed to the relevant local district or borough council conservation officer.

The County Council maintains the Historic Environment Record, in which information about boundaries and conservation areas is held within the geographical information system (GIS). Some information is also held in hard copy format, including some conservation area appraisal documents, however our collection of these documents is not complete. For details about how to access the North Yorkshire Historic Environment Record, please visit our historic sites and monuments page or see our Historic Environment Record leaflet, which can be downloaded below.

For up-to-date information about conservation areas, please contact the relevant local district or borough council.
