Health and social care

It is the aim of North Yorkshire County Council to promote healthy living and social wellbeing through support to individuals, families and communities in North Yorkshire.

We work in partnership with our colleagues in health, the voluntary sector and others to improve the health of people in North Yorkshire and to support people who face health difficulties.

North Yorkshire care services directory 2013-14

The care services directory contains information about social care services available in North Yorkshire and lists care and nursing homes in the county.

The directory provides valuable advice for people who are thinking of using social care services for themselves or their relatives or loved ones.

You can view the care services directory online. Alternatively, if you would like a hard copy of the directory, call the customer services centre on 0845 8 72 73 74 to request one or visit your local library to access a reference copy.

	Carers Get help, advice and information for adult and young carers and find out about respite care, advocacy and the care ambassador scheme.
	Children and family care Find out about maintenance, custody, parental responsibility, children's hearings, Common Assessment Framework and support.
	Disabilities Find out about specialist equipment for disabled people, the blue badge scheme and disability partnership boards in North Yorkshire.
	Fostering, adopting and looked after children Find out about fostering, adoption, preventative foster care, private and treatment fostering, short breaks for disabled children and care.
	Health and medical advice Find out about immunisation, vaccinations, independence at home, health advice, joint strategic needs assessments and hospice care.
