North Yorkshire County Council is to spend around £155,000 on repairs and improvements to the A61 in Thirsk in a week long operation, starting on Monday 13 September 2010, which will see the road resurfaced and repairs to footways. Read more about Road improvements in Thirsk

The Government has said local authorities can expect a cut in government funding of at least 25% over the next four financial years.

North Yorkshire County Council is now looking at what it does and how it works to see where further savings can be made.
