Joining the Supermobile library

You can join the library service by visiting the Supermobile at your nearest stop. When you have joined, you will be given a library card. This card can be used at any library in North Yorkshire.

Borrowing items from the Supermobile library

The Supermobile has a wide range of books and other library stock. It also provides access to the full range of materials held by the library and information service. You may request items from the Supermobile as you would with a local library. Any items that you request will be available for you to collect from the Supermobile on a later visit to your area.

If you miss a Supermobile visit and you need to return borrowed items, you can return them to the Supermobile on its next visit. Alternatively, you can also return any items borrowed from the Supermobile to any local library. If this is not possible, then there are other ways of renewing your books and other items, including online and over the telephone. For more details, see the libraries - loan renewals page. Please note, charges do apply on the Supermobile.

It provides free home delivery of books, audio books, music on CD, DVDs, large print books, children's books and information to people who find it difficult to get to their local library.
